How to choose
A headset or a speaker
A headset gives you your own volume without changing the room for anyone else. A speaker sits near your chair and needs nothing worn on your head. Which is better depends on whether you are usually watching alone or with company.
What these products are, and are not
Sound amplifiers and personal listening products make audio louder. They are not hearing aids, they are not fitted to your hearing, and we do not describe them as hearing aids. If you are considering a hearing aid, that is a conversation to have with a professional.
Check the connection
Televisions differ in what they can output. Confirm which sockets or wireless options your set has before choosing, because that is the most common reason a listening product does not work out.
Common questions
Is a sound amplifier the same as a hearing aid?
No. An amplifier makes sound louder for everyone using it. A hearing aid is a regulated device fitted to your specific hearing. We do not sell hearing aids and we do not describe amplifiers as though they were one.
